"In Full Swing” is a Canberra's most vibrant twenty piece Big Band, consisting of highly skilled and fun musicians who reside in and around the Canberra region. The band was originally formed in 1991, and has a extensive repertoire of music from the big band era of the 1930-40s, right through to contemporary funk, rock and Latin songs, as well as those by re-emergent artists such as Michael Bublè and Royal Crown Review. In Full Swing also features both male (Tom Johnston) and female (Lauren Black) vocalists, who add incredible intensity, pizzazz and talent to our ensemble.

In recent years In Full Swing has been busy in the recording studio. Our latest CD “Swing Star” was launched at the Canberra Southern Cross Club in June 2010 where the band performed to a packed auditorium. More information on our CD's can be found on our CD page.

The current line-up includes a range of versatile and talented personalities from 18-60 years of age who love to play music, have fun and enjoy each others' company. We are always on the lookout for more members so check out our recruitment page if you would like more information on joining us.

We perform at a wide variety of venues and in different formats, which regularly include Weddings, Private Functions, Christmas Parties, Jazz Festivals (Merrimbula- Queen’s Birthday long weekend), Special Events and Gala Balls, Charity and Community events such as school fetes and Floriade. We are very flexible and able to cater to your needs!
