“In Full Swing” is a twenty piece Big Band for the discerning music lover! Consisting of vibrant and fun musicians who reside in and around the Canberra region, the band was originally formed in 1991, and has a extensive repertoire of music from jazz and big band era of the 1930-40s, right through to contemporary funk, rock and Latin songs, as well as those by re-emergent artists such as Michael Bublè and Royal Crown Review. In Full Swing also features both male (Tom Johnston) and female (Lauren Black) vocalists, who add incredible intensity, pizzazz and talent to our ensemble.

Recently, In Full Swing has been busy in the recording studio. For almost two decades the band has produced a number of CD’s which show how far the band has come over such a long period of time. The current members include a range of versatile talent and personalities from 18-60 years of age who love to play music, have fun and enjoy each others company (and we are always looking for more)! Our newest CD “Swing Star” will be launched at a celebratory function in June- more details to follow!

We perform at a wide variety of venues and in different formats, which regularly include Weddings, Private Functions, Christmas Parties, Jazz Festivals (Merrimbula- Queen’s Birthday long weekend), Special Events and Gala Balls, Charity and Community events such as school fetes and Floriade. We are very flexible and able to cater to your needs!
